Volunteer requirements

  1. To join the Medical project in Tanzania you will need to be in your third or subsequent year of medical or nursing school, or a qualified professional. CNAs, paramedics and fully qualified EMTs are also be eligible to take part.
  2. Volunteers need to be 18 years or over to participate in this program. If you are under the age of 18.
  3. All volunteers are required to speak fluent English.

TEACHING IN MOSHI RAU PRIMARY SCHOOL

FRIENDS OF COMMUNITY Teaching project is a fantastic way for volunteers to assist in schools in Moshi where classes are often large and understaffed. Volunteers gain teaching experience by leading classes or helping local teachers with lessons in a range of school subjects. Alternatively, volunteers are also able to work in a school for students with disabilities who need a great deal of attention and support to thrive and succeed at school.

What to expect and how you’ll make an impact

As a Construction volunteer, you’ll assist with renovations in the local schools, childcare centers, kindergartens and the women’s center where our Teaching, Childcare and Women’s Education programs are based.

You’ll be volunteering alongside a local foreman and tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Brick laying
  2. Window repairs and replacement,
  3. Plastering
  4. Painting and decorating
  5. Small construction jobs
  6. Plumbing repairs

The work volunteers take part in will depend on the projects already underway at the time you join the program.
